Project Whitefish Kids

The Flathead Rapids are proud to be associated with Project Whitefish Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining Smith Fields Sports Complex

Project Whitefish Kids, Inc. is a Montana nonprofit corporation. The corporation was initially organized in 1989 to construct the Smith Field Sports Complex, a $1.2 million dollar facility dedicated to youth sports. The sports complex was built entirely as a privately funded community project. The 55 acre complex contains eight soccer/lacrosse pitches, 5 baseball fields, 4 softball fields, a playground, two concession stands, rest rooms, maintenance facilities and parking for approximately 400 cars. The Smith Field Youth Sports Complex serves children of over 600 North Valley families and is the home of the Flathead Rapids Soccer Club, the Cal Ripken Little League Baseball Club, the Flathead Lacrosse Club and the Whitefish Youth Softball program. Additionally, the sports complex provides “home” fields for Whitefish High School Varsity and JV soccer, and softball programs.  The corporation continues to operate, maintain and develop the complex utilizing a majority volunteer force and with 100% public funding.  Funding comes from player fees and the Project Whitefish Wine & Food Fest Auction annually in May.

Each season, $35 of every registration goes to Project Whitefish Kids - 100% of which is used on field and facility maintenance. We are proud to be a part of one of the most beautiful Sports Parks in Montana, and look forward to supporting PWK in whatever way we can.
