For ages 5-8 (2013-2010), we offer our Spring Academy Micro Program.

For high-school aged players, we offer a competitive program called Flathead Valley United.

Coaching Staff:

We pride ourselves on providing the best competitive coaching staff in the valley/region.  Our high-level Rapids coaches are licensed through US Youth Soccer and each have a unique background in the game of soccer.  In addition to their soccer knowledge, we recruit staff who represent the Flathead Rapids well and can be role models to our youth.  We like to attract quality individuals, who guide our players on the field and instill qualities that positively impact players off the field.

Our staff is managed/cultivated by our Executive Director and are guided by our Rapids Club Curriculum, which outlines their entire season and gives specific topics to focus on week-to-week.  This will help to follow the Rapids’ developmental model and philosophies to give our players an excellent opportunity to grow and develop.  Rapids Club Curriculum can be found here.

We look forward to providing you a great staff this year!

Spring Team Creation

Starting in January, each age group will have 1 practice indoors at Muldown Elementary School each week. If an age group has too many players for one roster, we will use these practices to evaluate player development levels and see if playing in tournaments and games with this team is the right fit for each player developmentally.

If it is determined during the January practices that the player would be better served as a “practice player” or moving to our recreational program, we will speak with the family and decide the best course of action moving forward. U10 teams (7v7) will have a roster of between 9 and 11 players. U11 and U12 teams (9v9) will have a roster of between 11 and 13 players.

Practice players will be invited to train with the team throughout the season, and will have the opportunity on weekends to play matches with the appropriate recreational team of their choice. The registration fee for practice players will be lower, and these players will not be charged for tournaments.

These decisions will be finalized as we move into February.

Spring Season Layout:

The season will begin in the middle of April, and games will be scheduled for most weekends between April 13th and June 1st. U10 Teams will be attending one tournament in Kalispell called the Three Blind Refs in early June.

U11 Teams will be attending two tournaments - one in Kalispell called the Three Blind Refs in early June, and one in Helena called the Arsenal Invitational in May. The team also has an opportunity to attend the State Showcase in the middle of June if they would like to compete for an extra tournament registration fee.

 Player Fees:

$300*/player - U10-U11 (Non-MYSA League) (Does not include any tournament fees)

Registration closes 3/15/19

$450*/player - U12 (MYSA league – includes all MYSA team fees) (Does not include any tournament fees)

Registration closes 3/15/19

*All U12 teams are registered in the MYSA League. This costs each team around $800 to register for, plus each team attends the State Showcase for another $50 per player, and it takes a lot more registration work on the part of our administrator. This is why U12 team fees are so much higher - we pay entry into the league and tournament and try to compensate our administrator for the work!
