FVU To Host USSF Grassroots License Course and Recreational Coach Education Event

By FVU Staff, 03/31/21, 3:45PM MDT

FVU, in conjunction with Montana Youth Soccer, continues to lead the holistic development of youth soccer in the Flathead Valley by offering three exciting events this April.

Informal Coaching Education Clinic:

FVU will welcome MYSA Director of Coaching Ric Plante to Kalispell on April 10th for an informal coaching clinic aimed at local recreational coaches.  This event will be an introduction to the USSF Grassroots Coaching Pathway and Play-Practice-Play Methodology.  This methodology was introduced to recreational coaches in Whitefish this past fall and will be rolled out to Kalispell and Columbia Falls recreational coaches this spring.  More details will follow on this event as recreational coaches in those communities are secured and teams have been finalized for the spring season.

USSF Coaching License Course: 7v7

Ric Plante will stay in town to deliver one formal USSF Grassroots 7v7 License on April 11.  Ric will be assisted in the delivery of the course by FVU Technical Director Damion Blackburn.  The course will follow a 2-2 format with 2 hours of classroom educational content followed by 2 hours of on-field work with local youth players.  The course can be attended by coaches of any level and we hope some of our recreational coaches will join the staff in our competitive programs to further their education side by side.

All events will be held at FVU’s indoor training facility, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse, at 155 Shady Lane in Kalispell.
