FVU Technical Director Fall Update

Thank you for taking the time to read thru a brief update on FVU, FSC, and the Flathead Rapids 2020/21 cycle looking into 2021/22.

Flathead Valley Soccer Families and Players,
All of us at the club hope you have enjoyed the summer and have had the continued opportunity to enjoy the gifts living in the valley can provide! I wanted to take a quick moment to check in with you and share some club highlights and achievements over the past 10 months as well as share some exciting news on our future.

Multiple State, Regional, and National ODP Program Staff

Over $35,000 invested in new goals, balls, training bibs, cones, and coaching licenses.

Coaching Mentorship w/ Licensed Coach Educator

6 USSF C or higher License Coaches were added to the staff.

3 USSF Grassroots Referee Courses + 2 USSF Coaching License Courses hosted.

Facility rental programs with other clubs and sports throughout the year.

3 Blind Refs Tournament: competition against opponents from all over the region and business influx to local communities.

Summer Camp and Supplemental Training: served over 250 players from all over the country.

Programs: year-round age and developmentally appropriate experiences for players. “Player First” approach with proper team sizes, age-appropriate rosters, and ample playtime.

FVU Boys and Girls: Multiple league and tournament titles capped off w/u15/16 B + u17/18 B qualifying + competing at the highest level of soccer in the region at USYS Regionals. NCAA1, 2, 3, NAIA, and JUCO coach exposure/ recruitment.

FSC/Rapids MYSA State League: Stages of learning to train and compete being embraced by the players. Most importantly done with the adoption of new training methods, style of play, and clear expectations on how our players are being taught to play the game.

NWL: created to address travel, cost, time, and competition. Kalispell, Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Whitefish, Clark Fork, Plains, Libby, and Polson all in meaningful games in the valley.

Recreational Programs: Highest numbers of players and families EVER. Coaches supported by appropriate curriculum and in-house coach education.

Thank you all for being a critical part of our club’s past and future! I know trusting the growth and development of your sons and daughters is not taken lightly and we are all honored to have earned the trust of over 1,300 soccer families. As we look to the future I am so excited to share a few sneak-peaks into what we have planned: a major 5-year club partnership to be announced in Fall 2021, a new facility design, and building to establish a soccer education center, and VEO match live-streaming and automated player highlights system. Most importantly, we will be steadfast in continuing to maintain affordable up-front pricing for our membership, all while expanding our program offerings for all of those in the Flathead Valley.
