Recreational Program

 

Registration Deadline: Registrations must be completed and submitted/checked out by March 15.  On March 16,  all registrations will be put on a waitlist and assessed a $20 late fee. Waitlist registrations will not be charged unless the player is placed on a team.  

Who:

  • All Pre-K through 8th Graders
  • We are hoping to field a co-ed team comprised of 7th and 8th graders if there is enough turnout.
  • If your player is not in the Columbia Falls community and would like to play in their home town, please visit Flathead Valley United for recreational opportunities in Whitefish and Kalispell. 

When:  April - May

Practices start the in early April, after Spring Break. The first game will be April 13 or as soon as the fields are free of snow and ready.  Game days will continue on Saturdays through May 18.

What: Fun, inclusive, introduction to the game with a proven practice curriculum.

  • Low cost & low time commitment
  • 1-2 Practices a week in the local community
  • Spring & Fall programs both include official games played on Saturdays for K-8th grade
  • All activities local to the Flathead Valley
  • Games for 3rd – 8th Grade are played valley wide
  • Volunteer coaches
  • Registration fee: $75/player
    • Cost includes $15 SD6 facility fee.

IMPORTANT:  In order to give every player an optimal practice experience and plenty of playing time, team numbers will be limited.  The more coaches we have, the more teams we can field!  Once teams in an age group are filled, we will be adding additional players to a waitlist, until we get additional coaches for more teams.  Register early and consider coaching!  We will give you the support you need to coach, co-coach, or be an assistant coach.  You can sign up to coach in the registration process!

Program Descriptions

 

Pre-K: Co-ed

  • Age: 4-5, not yet enrolled in Kindergarten.
  • Soccer Fundamentals: Players will focus on learning dribbling and shooting.
  • Practices/Games: Teams will meet once per week on Saturdays. The first half-hour focused on instructional games and practice and the second half-hour on a scrimmage with another team.
  •  Location: Horine Park in Columbia Falls.
  • What to bring: shin guards (mandatory), comfortable shoes (cleats optional but not necessary), size 3 soccer ball, drink, layers for different types of weather.
  • Jerseys: The jersey cost is added into the cost of the program for just this spring season. After this season, you will have an option to purchase a jersey if needed.

1st/2nd Grade: Co-ed

  • Age: Enrolled in 1st or 2nd Grade for Fall 2023  (or Homeschool equivalent). 
  • Soccer Fundamentals: Players will focus on learning dribbling, shooting, and passing. 
  • Practices: Teams will practice once per week at a time most convenient to the coach. Please indicate in the Parent Notes section of the registration your available times for practice. 
  • Games: Saturday mornings with other local 1st/2nd Grade teams. 
  • Location: Horine Park in Columbia Falls.
  • What to bring: shin guards (mandatory), comfortable shoes (cleats optional but not necessary), size 3 soccer ball, drink, layers for different types of weather. 
  • Jerseys: The jersey cost is added into the cost of the program for just this spring season. After this season, you will have an option to purchase a jersey if needed.

3rd/4th Grade: Male and Female teams

  • Age: Enrolled in 3rd or 4th Grade for Fall 2023  (or Homeschool equivalent).
  • Practices: Teams will practice once per week at a time most convenient to the coach. Please indicate in the Parent Notes section of the registration your available times for practice.
  • Games: Saturdays with other 3rd/4th Grade teams from Whitefish, Kalispell, and Bigfork. 
  • Location:  Practice: At the Junior High Fields or Horine Park in Columbia Falls. Games will be played at Columbia Falls Junior High Fields, Smith Fields in Whitefish, KidSport in Kalispell, TBD in Bigfork.
  • What to bring: shin guards (mandatory), cleats, size 4 soccer ball, drink, layers for different types of weather.
  • Jerseys: The jersey cost is added into the cost of the program for just this spring season. After this season, you will have an option to purchase a jersey if needed.

5th/6th Grade: Male and Female teams

  • Age: Enrolled in 5th or 6th Grade for Fall 2023  (or Homeschool equivalent). 
  • Practices: Teams will practice once or twice per week at a time most convenient to the coach. Please indicate in the Parent Notes section of the registration your available times for practice.
  • Games: Saturdays with other 5th/6th Grade teams from Whitefish, Kalispell, and Bigfork. 
  • Location:  Practice at the Junior High Fields in Columbia Falls. Games will be played at Columbia Falls Junior High Fields, Smith Fields in Whitefish, KidSport in Kalispell, TBD in Bigfork.

  • Games: Saturdays with other 7th/8th Grade teams from Whitefish, Kalispell, and Bigfork. 
  • Location:  Practice at the Junior High Fields in Columbia Falls. Games will be played at Columbia Falls Junior High Fields, Smith Fields in Whitefish, KidSport in Kalispell, TBD in Bigfork. 
  • What to bring: shin guards (mandatory), cleats, size 5 soccer ball, drink, layers for different types of weather.
